Emma's daughter Aurora has tried to raise her grandchildren with her own brand of love but in a dictatorial manner after Emma's death. Now that the children have grown into adults, they are trying to distance themselves from this tyrannical grandmother. Especially her granddaughter Melanie is considering leaving college and going to Hollywood with her unemployed boyfriend. Melanie and Aurora are like water and oil, which is perhaps why they resemble each other so much.
